Anthem's story begins with a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

We desire to be a people who live that mission day in and day out. We see a hurting world and know that the only way their physical and spiritual needs can be met is through the love of our savior poured out on them through his church.

Jesus called all Christ followers to go and make disciples of all nations. In order for that to happen, it can't stop with one local church. God has given us a vision to bring a movement of reproducing churches to Ventura County and beyond... beginning here, at Anthem Church, as we commit to reproducing on every level, with artists, leaders, small groups, locations and churches, so that the mission of Jesus Christ can go unto all the world!

A few years ago, Kristen and I knew that God was calling us toward church planting. Being in youth ministry for 10 years we had seen countless students graduate and become disconnected from the church. Our heart is to create a church that will not only reach this generation, but mobilize Christ followers of all generations to be used by God to change the world.

So we packed up our family and moved out to Naperville, Il to learn about church planting and culture. We spent 8 months with a church planting organization called Newthing.

And now, after 18 months of launching and building our Thousand Oaks campus, we are launching the second campus of Anthem Church in Camarillo, CA. We cannot wait to see God move in the hearts of the people of Camarillo, and would love to have you join us on the mission of helping people find their way back to God! - Matt Larson (Lead Pastor)
